Auditions Weekend of May 23rd

Dutch National Ballet has an audition for their Pre-NBA Program on 5/24.

- For children who want to audition for the Pre-NBA course of the Dutch National Ballet Academy and are currently in group 4 or 5 of elementary school.

- Children who are currently in group 6, 7 or 8 of elementary school can apply for the preliminary course.

- Pre-NBA 1: 

          - Children receive a class in classical ballet and a class in world dance every Saturday. 

          - The course gives children the opportunity to be introduced to the more professional nature of ballet classes at the Dutch National Ballet Academy and offers a structured lesson plan that focuses on learning correct basic technique.  

          - It is a great stepping stone to day-to-day training, as it allows children to get in touch with pre-professional training opportunities at a young age. 

- Pre-NBA 2:

          - Children receive classes twice a week. 

                    - Saturday - classical ballet and world dance class

                    - Wednesday - ballet

                    - The course runs from September to March.

          - The course gives children the opportunity to become acquainted with the professional nature of dance classes at the Dutch National Ballet Academy. 

          - The structured lesson plan, in which learning the correct basic technique is central. It is a great stepping stone to day-to-day professional training that starts in Group 7.

Royal Conservatoire The Hague has an audition for their School of Young Talent and Young KC Dance on 5/24.

- The jury is looking for talent; years of prior dance experience is not a requirement. 

- The most important criteria are musicality, creativity, coordination and a feel for movement. It is all about enjoying dancing.

- The dance curriculum encompasses various dance techniques, with a focus on classical ballet throughout the programme. 

- The younger pupils also have lessons in modern dance, world dance and flamenco. 

- The advanced pupils and Bachelor’s students also learn modern and contemporary dance techniques and styles, repertoire and pas-de-deux and receive coaching.

Northern School of Contemporary Dance is accepting applications for their MA Dance & Creative Enterprise until 5/25.

- There is no audition for this course. 

- Applicants are required to create an account via our online application portal and complete an application. You will need to provide:

          - Personal information: including contact details and qualification details

          - Your Curriculum Vitae (CV)

          - Link to video footage (maximum 15 minutes) which may include your creative/choreographic work, performance work, solo work and/or improvisation work.  Please ensure that each extract is of sufficient length (e.g. 2-3 minutes minimum) to allow the panel to evaluate the work effectively

          - A Personal Statement/Essay (750 – 1000 words) detailing your approach to producing work and reasons for applying. Please reference current theories of practice to support your writing and include a reference page or bibliography in a Harvard style.

Carabdanza is accepting audition submissions for Dancers for Professional Training/ Apprentice Program for the 2025-2026 Season until 5/25.

- Applicants should send the following materials to our email address [email protected]  (specifying in the subject line that they wish to take the entrance exam online):

          - Resume or cover letter, explaining whether or not you have any prior training.

          - Video of a ballet barre.

          - Video of contemporary dance choreography created by someone else.

          - Video of a free contemporary dance solo.

Inland Pacific Ballet is accepting audition submissions for their 2025 Summer Intensive until 5/25.

- Ages 6-18

- June 23 - July 26

- Five week summer intensive that culminates in a showcase performance.

- Summer Intensive schedule varies depending on the level in which dancers are placed.

          - To determine level placement, please submit a video no longer than 5 minutes showcasing barre and center work

                    - Barre: pliés, tendus, dégagés, grand battements

                    - Center: adagio, pirouettes, petit and grand allegro

                    - If applicable, dancers should wear pointe shoes for the center work portion of the video.
