ROOTS 2026 is a transformative 5-day dance intensive exploring ancestry, identity, and creativity. Curated by internationally acclaimed choreographer Aakash Odedra, the programme is designed to uplift, challenge, and inspire early and mid-career dancers. ROOTS offers world-class training, creative exploration, industry insight, and performance opportunities through masterclasses, discussions, and movement sessions with leading voices in dance and culture. This year we will be teaching a company piece that has not premiered yet too! This year, ROOTS explores the lineage, cultural, artistic, and personal-that shape who we are as dancers today. Through embodied exploration, participants connect to their “dance DNA,” uncovering inherited rhythms, memories, and practices. It is said that all of humanity traces back to just three ancestral lineages. ROOTS invites us to remember that what connects us is far greater than what divides us.
