The Ailey Experience workshop series is designed to embody the diversity of the Ailey dancer with training in a variety of dance techniques while introducing dancers to the exciting world of performance in a fun, non-competitive environment. This is a great opportunity for dancers of all levels to train with Ailey instructors, former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater company members, and professional New York City dancers for a full week of daily technique classes and rehearsals culminating in a final performance showing for friends and family. No experience is necessary and all levels are welcome!

Session Description
Dancers of all levels ages 8–21 are invited to the home of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to train with world-renowned Ailey instructors, former Ailey dancers, and professional New York City choreographers for an intensive full of daily technique classes. Participants will also learn original choreography throughout each week, culminating in a final showcase for friends and family on Friday. Students will learn ballet, contemporary, Horton, jazz, hip hop, West African dance, and more in addition to the rich history of Alvin Ailey’s signature style and how he changed the perception of American dance. No audition or dance experience is required!
