Description

Our professional summer intensive 2025, Wales International Ballet Summer School (WIBSS), takes place at The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre, Newport, Wales. Join us on this week long intensive with classes taught by the company director Darius James OBE and guest teachers and repertoire led by the professional dancers of the company. We also welcome back Marcus Jarrell Willis, Artistic Director of Phoenix Dance Theatre, who will create new work on the participants of WIBSS. The course includes ballet technique class, ballet repertoire and new choreography with additional pointe work, technique coaching, pas de deux, contemporary, conditioning and stretching. Pointe work experience is not essential for this course. There will be a performance of work created throughout the week on the final day of the course. This performance will be on the main stage at The Riverfront and will be free for friends and family to attend. Ballet Cymru strives to be an inclusive company and welcomes applications from disabled dancers or those from protected characteristics.
