Information about the Course Our intensive professional course over the summer, the Ballet Summer School Wales International (WIBSS), being held at Theatr a Canolfan Riverside Arts. Join us on this intensive one week course still, where classes will be taught by the directors of the company and guest teachers, and the repertoire led by dancers the company's professional. We will also welcome Marcus Jarrell Willis, Phoenix Dance Theater Artistic Director and Ballet Associate Artist Wales back, which will create new work for those who will take part in the Wales International Ballet Summer School. The course includes a class on ballet technique, ballet repertoire and new choreography, plus additional pointe work, training on technique, pas de deux, contemporary, conditioning and stretching. It is not required to have any experience of pointe work for this course. The work that will be created during the week will be shared on the last day of the course. These sharing sessions will be held on the main stage at Theatr Glan yr Afon, and it will be free for family and friends who want to attend. Ballet Cymru strives to be an inclusive and welcoming company applications from dancers with disabilities or those with characteristics protected.
