Baum Ballet

Jefferson Baum provides world-class training for dancers of all ages and levels. Whether you want to make leaps and bounds or polish, you can receive expert coaching virtually from anywhere in the world. Baum performed with Pennsylvania Ballet, Ballet de Monte Carlo (Monaco), the Metropolitan Opera Ballet of NYC, and as a principal with Ballet Arizona, Santa Fe Opera, and Milwaukee Ballet. He performed on tours of North America, South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. Highlights of his career included performing in Russia with Stars of American Ballet, and Spain and Portugal performing alongside Rudolf Nureyev. Mr. Baum is an internationally acclaimed master teacher and choreographer. He has been the subject of features in the publications “Dance Magazine”, “Dance Teacher”, “Newsweek”, “The New York Times” and “The New York Times Magazine”. Currently, photos of Mr. Baum may be seen in the dance books, Tradition, On Your Toes, and Dancer, Men in Dance.

His students have gone on to professional careers with major companies including National Ballet of Washington, Momix of NYC, National Ballet of Canada, and currently Boston Ballet, Alberta Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Miami City Ballet, and New York City Ballet.

After graduating from University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Jefferson Baum furthered his studies at American Ballet Theatre and School of American Ballet, both on full scholarship. He had the privilege of being trained and coached by some of the ballet world’s most distinguished figures including George Balanchine, Rudolf Nureyev, Sir Stanley Williams, Duncan Noble, Alexandra Danilova, Frederick Franklin, Lupe Serrano and Paul Sutherland.
