Video Requirements:
Submit a video of a solo of your choosing. We want to see who you are; please choose a style you’re comfortable with. Your solo should be a minimum of one minute in length. Learn our modern phrase with CSU Dance faculty member, Judy Bejarano. Then, record yourself performing it, and submit it with your Acceptd application. Learn our ballet phrase with CSU Dance faculty member, Madeline Harvey. Then, record yourself performing it, and submit it on with your application in the Acceptd Audition Portal. Prospective students will meet with 2-3 dance faculty members for a fifteen-minute interview (either at the In-person Dance Experience or via Zoom). Faculty are interested in hearing why the applicant is interested in dancing at CSU and what career path the applicant might wish to pursue in dance. Applicants will also have an opportunity to ask the dance faculty questions about CSU Dance.Audition Description
hank you for your interest in CSU Dance! All auditionees for the CSU dance degrees, including those attending the in-person Dance Experience: Visit and Audition Days, must submit a solo, a modern phrase, and a ballet phrase video with this application. If you attend an in-person Dance Experience: Visit and Audition Day, the interview portion of the audition process will be in person; otherwise, you’ll need to schedule a virtual interview after uploading your materials and submitting the application. To complete this application, you must have a CSU ID. To obtain a CSU ID, please apply to CSU through the Office of Admissions. Applications are evaluated in November and February, with decisions emailed within three weeks of your interview date. After February, we accept applications until the program is full. We waitlist students to keep our class sizes small. We recommend submitting your CSU Dance application and applying to the CSU Office of Admissions as soon as possible.Updated: Sept. 16, 2025
