Audition Description

Columbus Dance Theatre - A contemporary ballet company, professional training school, and arts presenter, located in Columbus, Ohio. Columbus Dance Theatre performs in its home theatre, The J. Nick Marzella Theater, as well as in the Lincoln Theatre and other venues throughout central Ohio and the United States. CDT’s repertoire ranges from classical ballet, contemporary and modern. The CDT season begins in September and continues through the end of May. Contract offerings are based on experience and include Trainee positions that work with the company and school, unpaid and paid Apprentice positions, as well as paid Company positions. Dancers work 5 days each week with 3-4 hours of rehearsal daily in addition to Company ballet class. Trainees and Apprentices perform in the Company repertoire. UPDATE: We will not be holding our Company audition for our 25/26 Season. We will continue to accept Trainee applications. QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum Age: 16 years old for Trainee/Apprentice consideration and 18 years old for Company consideration. - Strong ballet technique required. Women: pointe required.
