The Aspirant Program focuses on intense regular interaction with Eugene Ballet Company, where students study, rehearse and gain professional experience in a professional setting. Close contact with Eugene Ballet Company provides Aspirants with several educational advantages including the opportunity of accelerated training at the company level and integration into the daily training, rehearsal and performance of ballets associated with Eugene Ballet Company. Aspirants are cast in Eugene Ballet Company’s repertory throughout the year. Additionally, during Eugene Ballet Company lay off weeks, Aspirants will continue with ballet technique classes and rehearsals with guest choreographers/stagers, learning their own ballets/dance works. Aspirants participate in their own performing program at various venues and events throughout the season (regional tours, Wildish Theater performance, Northwest Dance Festival performance). The Aspirant Program follows Eugene Ballet Academy’s season calendar—September through April—with a one-week pre-season training intensive in September and an optional post-season training in May. Aspirants receive an education equipment stipend of $1,200 for the season and an allotment of shoes for each term.
