Video Submission Instructions: Upload your videos to YouTube or Vimeo Add the links to the application, including the password for private videos Video Guidelines: Video 1: Solo Composition (All Applicants) Please show a two-minute long choreographed solo May be of any technique or style you choose May be composed by the dancer or another choreographer Video 2: Ballet Foundations (Video Only Audition - not required for in-person audition) Barre work in flat shoes Pliés in all positions Tendus from 5th position Rond de jambe a terre Fondus with développé Ballet Foundations Center work in flat shoes Tendus with pirouettes en dehors and or en dedans Adagio If possible please include a traveling combination and petit allegro Personal Statement (All Applicants): In addition to your video materials or interview, the dance faculty determine your alignment with the Dance program’s mission through reading your short essay. This statement should describe your goals as a dancer and your interest in Loyola’s Dance program.

Audition Description

Thank you for your interest in Loyola University Chicago’s Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Admission to the Dance Major requires a two-part application process: 1) an application for admission to the University; 2) an application and audition/interview to the major. Application to the Major: Students can enter the Bachelor of Arts in Dance through two pathways: Audition for the major either on campus or via video audition Transfer from a Dance minor to a major Video Audition: Please complete and submit this application by Sunday, MARCH 1 . Include a ballet foundations video, a two-minute solo of any style that you choose, and personal statement.
