Video Requirements:
1. Submit a video demonstrating your Ballet technique
Ballet Barre
a. Barre with combinations of your choosing (6-10 minutes long).
Ballet Centre
a. A combination showing battement dégagés/jetés, pa de bourrée, pirouettes en dedans, and en dehors. (Both sides)
b. A combination showing Petit Allegro. Should include assemblé, glissade, and pas de chat. (Both sides)
c. A combination showing Grand Allégro (if your circumstances allow). It should include grand jeté. Could include fouettés and tour en l’air. (Both sides).
2. Submit a video demonstrating your Modern, Contemporary, or Jazz improvisation technique.
a. Please submit a 1-2 minute modern/jazz/contemporary phrase including level changes, articulation of the torso, use of breath, and isolations. This may include some improvisations. We encourage you to present a combination in a different style/genre than your solo to show your versatility.
3. Submit a 2-minute Dance Solo video
a. Submit a 1-2 minute solo choreographed by you or someone else. The solo should be in the genre of your choice. This should be a recording of you taken within the last three months.
4. Dance Interview video
a. Introduce yourself and speak briefly about your solo - who choreographed it and a few sentences about the dance.
b. Share with us how you approach your practice and the discipline of dance.
c. Share with us your academic interests outside of dance.
d. Share with us what aspects of your dance practice bring you the most joy.
