Description
The Sarasota Cuban Ballet Studio Company provides a bridge between the school and the performance side of the Sarasota Cuban Ballet. The Studio Company has many facets - preparing strong and confident young dancers for professional careers and providing community education and outreach throughout the area - but performance opportunities are the major focus. The Studio Company’s 36-week season provides Company members expansive performance opportunities at professional theater venues, the performance series in the Sarasota Cuban Ballet Auditorium, and invitations to perform at local festivals and community events.

Session Description
The Gulfcoast Studio Company of the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School strives to develop strong and confident dancers, giving them the opportunity to expand their artistic development and performance experience. The Gulfcoast Studio Company provides an important bridge from student training to a professional career. Company members receive instruction and personalized coaching by an international faculty following the renowned Cuban training method. The Sarasota Cuban Ballet is a premier destination in the United States for Cuban training. The Gulfcoast Studio Company’s 37-week season provides Company members expansive performance opportunities, including the Nutcracker, Spring Performance, and On Stage Gala at professional theater venues; the Black Box performance series in the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School’s auditorium; and invitations to perform at local festivals and community events. Community outreach activities, such as lecture/demonstrations and creative movement workshops for children of all ages lead by Company members, provide opportunities to explore many aspects of the dance world.

Session Description
Our Trainee Program is affiliated with the Gulfcoast Studio Company of the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School. Trainee program students are high school to age 22 and are selected through audition. The 37-week season includes daily technique class, with additional classes in pointe, men’s technique, variations, partnering, contemporary, and dance conditioning. Classes are small and taught by an international faculty following the renowned Cuban training method. The Sarasota Cuban Ballet School is a premier destination in the United States for Cuban training. Trainee program students will have the opportunity to perform with Gulfcoast Studio Company members in productions at professional theater venues and Black Box series performances in the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School’s auditorium. The trainee program provides an important bridge from student training to a professional career.
