Students are accepted into The Washington School of Ballet by attending an in-person audition or submitting a video audition. Students attending the summer intensive who are also interested in enrolling in the following school year will be evaluated during summer classes. They do not need to attend a separate audition. Advance registration is required for all in-person auditions at The Washington Ballet and walk-up registration will not be accepted. All students auditioning for TWSB programs will be placed by ability and readiness for the TWSB syllabus. Dancers 12+ should have a minimum of 2-4 years of ballet training and Intermediate pointe work or have had 1-2 years of pointe. All auditions and placement classes carry a fee due at the time of registration.Updated: Nov. 6, 2025
