Open auditions for Twin Cities Ballet's Apprentice Program TCB's formal Apprentice program is an unpaid bridging opportunity for advanced pre-professionals to train and gain performance experience, in preparation for moving into a professional position with TCB or another company. It is a position a step higher than student Trainee, and just before paid company member. Apprentices dance their own roles most of the time, rather than just understudying the other company members, and receive coaching and guidance throughout the season. There are no tuition or fees paid by the dancer for the program. The position requires full commitment for the length of the season, mid-September through mid-May. Apprentices take class daily and rehearse with the company (on non-performance weeks, Sun–Thurs), with additional classes in Ballet Royale's Professional Division or other classes available to take at no charge (with pre-arrangement). Apprentices are encouraged to take additional training to maximize their improvement and benefits. Apprentice positions are through Audition only.
