Video Requirements:

Solo Choreography: Please include, via video, performance of a 60 second solo that you have choreographed/created yourself. Adjudicators are particularly interested in seeing your individual creative voice. Please send sharable links following the instructions below. Phrase Material: Please learn and record yourself performing two phrases taught by UMN Dance instructors. These phrases should be repeated three times each. Please include video of yourself performing this material with your submission. Video links need to be shareable. Movement phrases can be referenced in this video https://vimeo.com/1033581349 OPTIONAL – Additional Class/Performance/Related Video: You are welcome to include class, performance or related footage - where you are clearly identified - that provides examples of your dance or dance-related experience. Feel free to send video notes when applicable. Additional video clips should not exceed five minutes in total.

Audition Description

Prospective dance majors are strongly encouraged to submit an application to the University of Minnesota by the Office of Admissions priority deadlines, but need not have received notification from the University before participating in an audition. While the Dance Faculty/Staff encourages students to participate at an in-person whenever feasible, dancers unable to travel to in-person auditions are welcome to submit a video audition.
