Stay in University Housing just like our majors do. Two students share a room and four students share an adjoining bathroom. Students are supervised by UBSI Resident Assistants who stay in the same housing they do. Enjoy planned activities with the RAs or just kick back and relax during your non-dancing hours. Housing is secure and requires an access card to enter the building and a key to access rooms. Walking distance to the Heritage Center where meals are served. Shuttle bus to MCD area M - F. Also convenient to TRAX and UTA Bus lines.
Session Description
All UBSI classes will be offered in blocks (see breakout below for the options available). Students are encouraged to sign up for all three blocks to experience the full intensive. However, we provide the opportunity for students to choose the block(s) that best fit their schedule to make the summer intensive accessible for students who have other summer commitments. Please note, for students staying in University On-Campus Housing, you must register for all three blocks. Placement: All students will be broken into pods based on age. The University of Utah School of Dance places students by age rather than technique level for the summer intensive. Each individual class will be capped at approximately 20 students to allow plenty or room for movement. The times noted on the the schedule below are estimates based off of prior years. Each pod will stagger start / end times by up to an hour each week. (Example: Week 1 may be 8:00am - 5:30pm, Week 2 may be 9:00am - 6:30pm, Week 3 may be 8:00am - 5:30pm, Week 4 may be 9:00am - 6:30pm).
