Students typically begin in the Open Division at the foundational level, where the focus is on inspiring students and instilling a love for music, dance, and self-expression. As students progress through the levels, an increasingly more formal approach and technical structure is applied using the Cecchetti Method. Students looking to expand their dance vocabulary are offered optional add-on classes to further improve and expand their dance skills. ADD-ON classes include additional ballet technique classes, jazz, contemporary, and pointe/men’s work. Age is as of September 2024. Placement is not always determined only by age. Victoria Academy of Ballet takes care in placing students in the appropriate level for their development and safety.
