Auditions have passed-check back Whim W’Him is seeking experienced contemporary dancers for the season. We aim to create an inclusive work environment and work to actively embrace a diversity of people, ideas, talents, and experiences. We highly encourage people of color, individuals with disabilities, and other historically underrepresented groups in our community to apply. Invitation to the audition is by application only through this form. Olivier Wevers, Artistic Director, will select dancers to audition in-person. All applicants will receive an emailed copy of their submission as confirmation of receipt. All applicants for the Seattle audition will be notified on January 31, 2025. All applicants for the NYC audition will be notified on February 7. 2025. The in-person audition will be led by Karl Watson, Company Manager and Director of Education. No warm up will be provided. The first round will consist of repertoire and improvisation. During callbacks, final candidates will be asked to partner. DESIRED REQUIREMENTS Contemporary dance background Basic classical training Partnering skills Committed to the creative process – all new creations requires engagement and creative participation Works well and respectfully with others EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Dancers must be at least 18 years old and able to work legally in the USA. We are unable to sponsor visas for foreign workers. Only U.S. citizens or those currently possessing a valid visa or green card will be considered. This position requires an on-site presence in studios and theaters in Seattle and the surrounding areas.
