Brecon Festival Ballet's professional auditions are held in conjunction with Ballet Audition Platform UK. This was created to help the large number of young UK-based dancers who have graduated from full time vocational training and are finding it difficult to get work, a situation that was exacerbated by Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic. The hope is that the establishment of the platform will help enable the employment of “home-grown” dancers in UK-based companies. There are 2 categories as follows: aged from 17 to 20 for advanced students and recent graduates aged 20+ for graduates and young professionals The auditioning panel includes directors of companies, mostly based in the UK, that can offer short-to-medium term freelance contracts.
