Here, dancers ages 13 - 18 train in stunning studios filled with light, surrounded by nature that inspires focus, creativity, and clarity. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Paloma Herrera, and alongside legendary faculty including Martine van Hamel and Kevin McKenzie, dancers receive personalized coaching from artists who have shaped the ballet world. Our intensive summer program is known for its rigorous daily classes and is specifically designed for qualified students. Intensive students will experience a significant improvement as they attend daily extended classes in ballet technique, pointe, and variations. They will also receive training in other dance forms, including jazz, modern, character, and contemporary, as well as specialized classes in Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), and therapeutic conditioning, aimed at enhancing their strength, flexibility, extension, and turnout. Intensive programs are exclusively available through audition and open to dedicated, physically fit dancers who exhibit outstanding ability and potential. Charlotte Ballet Summer Intensive Auditions are open now! Charlotte Ballet’s Summer Intensive is recognized for its strong training, diverse classes, rigorous schedule and supportive faculty. During this program, dancers are encouraged to refine their strength in classical ballet technique and explore new movements. Training six days a week, dancers ages 11-22 work with renowned resident and guest teachers, who are invested in each dancer’s growth. And, the Summer Intensive concludes with the Summer Repertory Performances at Charlotte Ballet’s Center for Dance.
